The Steel Wheels at Club Passim

The Steel Wheels

I’m a huge fan of the Steel Wheels, and not just because they hail from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, my home state.  In fact, it was an article about their tour on bicycles that made me check out their album Red Wing shortly after it was released.  It was “Americana” or “Roots Music,” but unique, performed with beautiful vocal harmonies and sophisticated instrumentation. The original songs were standouts with vivid, emotionally evocative lyrics.  It blew me away, as has everything they’ve done since!

So of course I jumped at the chance to attend their concert at one of my favorite clubs, Passim in Cambridge.  It was brilliant, as is their new album Leave Some Things Behind.
