Four Singer-Songwriters and a minivan: The Parlor Sessions Tour

The Parlor Sessions

The Parlor Sessions

Tomorrow night Eliot Bronson, Dean Fields, Jason Myles Goss and Andy Zipf will wrap up their 15-day, 15-city tour at The Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC. In five previous posts you can read about the tour and what was planned.  The idea worked beautifully.

These are four remarkably talented guys, similar in some ways, but each quite unique, too.  I had the chance to catch the tour twice, at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA and at Ashland Coffee and Tea in Ashland, VA, and I must say it was brilliant on both occasions. If you’re the kind of person who likes watching artists interact, and who likes to know the story behind songs, you would have loved these shows.

I enjoyed seeing the show twice.  The crowd at Passim was more energized than the crowd in Ashland, but I loved the venue in Virginia.  It’s a listening room next to a coffee shop, and right next to a train station.  There’s something romantic about it.  Even the trains pulling out of the station seemed timed to match appropriate points in the lyrics of certain songs, such Eliot Bronson’s “Milwaukee.”  I’ve been a fan of Dean Fields for a while, but now I’m equally a fan of all four artists!

Enjoy this gallery of images from the shows.  I didn’t have my camera in Ashland, so those photos were taken with my iPhone and aren’t so good.  In any case, I hope you enjoy them. Don’t forget to download your Parlor Sessions sampler!
