The Festy has been an annual thing in Nelson County, Virginia since Michael Allenby and The Infamous Stringdusters held their first event in 2009. I’ve not had the pleasure of going to the Virginia Festy, but last weekend The New England Festy brought a taste of the experience to the Boston for a two-day event at historic Prowse Farm in Canton. The farm is an outstanding venue for a festival, and this festival took full advantage of it.  Below is a gallery of some of the photos I took last weekend.  I missed the sets by Old Salt Union, GarretGrass Gospel Hour., and Whiskey Shivers, though I did catch them warming up.  I really wanted to see their set, as well as the others I missed, but I had scheduling conflicts. 

If the event looks fun, it was!  These photos are mostly of performances, but there’s a lot of stuff going on around the farm.  Let’s hope The New England Festy does, indeed, become an annual event!
